Our wedding day will begin at San Sophia Overlook, followed by cocktails on the mountain. You’ll then have time to explore while we step away for photographs, before we meet at Communion Wine Bar for a private dinner.
Wedding Day
The Wedding Day
- The Day’s Schedule Sunday, June 27, 2027
Here’s the plan for the day. All times are local to Telluride, and we’ll share any updates as the wedding gets closer.
- 12:30 PM Ceremony San Sophia Overlook
- Following the Ceremony Cocktail Hour San Sophia Overlook
- About 2:30 PM Free Time Explore Telluride or Mountain Village
- 5:00 PM Dinner Communion Wine Bar, Mountain Village
What Should I Wear?
Semi-Formal Attire
We encourage you to dress as sharply as you feel comfortable, and we’d love to see everyone looking their best! Suits, jackets with dress pants, dresses of any length, and other semi-formal attire are all welcome.
Color Palette
We’d love for everyone to wear black, if possible! Whether it’s a black suit, dress, or another semi-formal outfit, we’d prefer everyone dressed in black for the occasion. This is a preference, not a requirement, so please don’t feel obligated to purchase something new.
Footwear
Our ceremony will take place on grass, a short walk from the gondola. We recommend choosing shoes that are comfortable for walking and suitable for uneven ground. Flats, wedges, or block heels are generally easier than stilettos.
Weather & Layers
Portions of the day will take place outdoors at high elevation, where temperatures can change throughout the day. Even in June, it can be cool in the mountains, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or another layer.
Ceremony at San Sophia Overlook
Getting There
San Sophia Overlook is a ridgetop ceremony site partway up Palmyra Peak, accessible by gondola. Guests can board the gondola in either Telluride or Mountain Village and get off at San Sophia Station, the halfway stop between the two. From there, it’s a short walk to the grassy amphitheater where the ceremony will take place.
The View
From the overlook, you have 360-degree views of the Town of Telluride, Wilson Peak (Coors Light can, anyone?), and the surrounding mountains, with towering spruce trees all around. Photos truly don’t do it justice.
Cocktails on the Mountain
Cocktail Hour
Please stay with us at San Sophia after the ceremony for cocktails and time together on the mountain. This will be a relaxed hour to toast, mingle, and take in the views.
After cocktail hour, we’ll head off with our photographer for more pictures around Telluride, while you’ll have some free time to explore before dinner.
An Afternoon in Telluride
At San Sophia Station
Before heading down the mountain, you can stop at Allred’s, the restaurant located right at San Sophia Station, for a drink with a view.
In Mountain Village
If you’d rather stay close to where we’ll be having dinner, Mountain Village has several places to grab a drink or spend some time before dinner.
- Tomboy Tavern: A slopeside tavern in the village with Colorado craft beer, whiskey, and wine.
- Telluride Brewing Company: The local brewery’s Mountain Village brewpub.
- Telluride Distilling Company: Craft cocktails with locally made spirits.
- Poachers Pub: A longtime local favorite for pub food and craft beer.
Exploring Telluride
You can also take the gondola into downtown Telluride, where you’ll find local shops, restaurants, bars, and historic buildings along Main Street.
If you head into town, allow about 20 minutes to return to Communion Wine Bar in Mountain Village by gondola and on foot for dinner at 5:00 PM.
Dinner at Communion Wine Bar
The Venue
Communion is a wine bar in the heart of Mountain Village, where we’ll be having a private dinner with our family and friends.
Dinner & Drinks
Dinner will be prepared by Dustin Clements, a private chef, sommelier, and one of the owners of Communion. We’ll be enjoying a banquet-style dinner, with wine, signature cocktails and beer also available at the bar.
Still to Come
We’ll share the final menu, timing, and arrival details once confirmed.
After Dinner
More details to come!
Accessibility & Mobility
Our ceremony takes place at high elevation and involves a gondola ride followed by a short walk to the grassy ceremony site.
If you have concerns about gondola boarding, walking, or other mobility needs, please contact us before the wedding. We’ll confirm the venue access details and help coordinate the most comfortable available arrangements.
